From 2016 through 2020, approximately 842 fatalities occurred every year from falls, slips and trips. For each year in this sample, the Bureau of Labor Statistics tracked at least 791 fatalities, including at least 645 involving a fatal fall from a height to a lower level. Based on statistics available in 2013, falls from height accounted for 13 percent of all fatal work-related injuries.
